The views are good, but not great (disturbed by power cables). And outside you hear the motorway noise which did ruin the peace.
The hotel isn’t manned, so there is no front of house. It means you have to be clear about your arrival time (and I had trouble getting through to them to mention our 7pm arrival). There’s also no-one to talk to about e.g arranging taxis or things to do in the area.
One of the reasons we chose this place was because of the shared kitchen. On the first night, a Monday evening, we made a pasta dish. But the next day, one of the staff (who was only there at breakfast time) told us we shouldn’t cook and the kitchen facilities are not to be used. There were no signs and nothing explaining this. The hotel does not offer food, except Weds-Sunday. So, not being able to cook means you have to travel into Ronda to find a restaurant. So, don’t choose this for the self-catering option.
Further, during our stay, the hotel had problems with its water. The water was switched off for a full day and no one talked to us about it. I had to go ask for bottled water but there was nothing proactive from the hotel about this.
Similarly, we were keen to do an olive tour or tasting, it’s why we chose it. But, because no one was around, this wasn’t explained to us.
The room was fine - but there was a coffee maker and no cups and no milk.
It really lacked service and basics in the room to make it a comfortable stay.
