Not a patch on our previous visit
A mixed bag. Had a fantastic stay a year ago, unfortunately this was a different experience. The room and stay was fine but the bar and restaurant was a different matter. On arrival I ordered decaf tea but was given raspberry?? Not an issue but seems like more training is required. Our evening meal was good, but not as good as previous visits.The only plus was the wonderful service from Heather for our evening meal.
The breakfast was a complete shambles. Very understaffed. Even though it was quiet when we arrived everything was running low, juices, hot water, bread etc, spoons, no sauces or butter. I had to supply my own teabags. But my biggest complaint was dietary restrictions were not asked about. This is a big no,no in catering now. I was served something I am allergic to. Luckily I noticed but had to wait a really long time for it to be replaced. The rest of the party had finished. The food execution was very poor. By the time we left the breakfast area was a complete shambles. Not the poor servers fault, but the fault of management and training. We asked when checking in could we book a time, but was told 'just turn up'. The hotel was full so they could have preempted the amount of guests. For this reason we wont be returning
