Bummer of a honeymoon
What a bummer of a honeymoon. I called Kingfish Inn back in July to confirm that the restaurant would be open in October, prior to booking. The representative that I spoke with confirmed that the restaurant would be open during our stay. The restaurant is located directly underneath the rooms. My husband and I wanted to recreate our first vacation that we had at Kingfish Inn back in 2021. When we arrived our room was locked and had someone else’s name on our door, even though the instructions stated it would be unlocked. I had to go downstairs to the restaurant and find someone who could help. The restaurant was playing very loud music a lot of the weekend since they were cleaning the restaurant since it had closed down for the season a week prior. Our hotel room lacked an extra blanket, and I had to message the hotel staff for one. I called and left a voicemail for the Inn when I found out that the restaurant would be closed during our stay and explained how bummed we were since this was our honeymoon. The Inn did not even call me back but texted me back a few days later. I hoped the Inn would offer a refund or at least a discount, but they did not. This Inn used to be wonderful, but now I’m sad to say the quality and service has gone down hill.

Great place to stay on Orcas Island. At this time of year - late Sept - the front desk isn't staffed, but it's very easy to get the staff via phone. Excellent dining on premises, beautiful area, centrally located on the island.

Loved the quiet, rural location right on the bay. The room was well decorated and thoughtfully appointed, with nice towels and toiletries. The restaurant downstairs was phenomenal, casual but refined and the food was excellent. The only small issues I had with our stay were that the small size of the shower and fixed shower head is not a good fit for tall or larger bodies, and even on a mild 70 degree summer day the room was very stuffy at night (the window had conflicting instructions about opening and there was no screen in the patio door). The provided fans helped some but not enough for a comfortable sleep. All in all we would probably stay again, but in the cooler months.

We did not receive any checkin instructions ahead of time. Fortunately Tina’s husband was very helpful and provided us a lot of info about checking in. Tina was also very helpful! I expect Expedia dropped the ball on providing us instructions. We enjoyed our stay.

The suite was spacious and comfortable but needed deeper cleaning. The main issue with place was actually finding where the suite was located because there is no one on site and the signs were not helpful.

Perfect view of the harbor and not too far from town. The room had a very cozy atmosphere vibe. The check-in process was a bit confusing and the appliance fixtures were flimsy/broken.

I loved the view, the lovely private balcony, the cozy room and decor. I would definitely stay again. The management were very responsive and helpful as well. The electric fireplace is also a cozy addition that I made good use of since it is pretty cold in March, still.

The view was beautiful from the deck of our unit. We could see an eagle's nest in a tree fairly close to the unit and watch the eagles coming and going. I presume they had eggs or babies in the nest.

The pictures do not do it justice it is a stunning stay with incredible views. The room (spruce suite) was very cozy, clean and had all necessary accommodations. We are already planning another trip! It’s very apparent that the hosts care a great deal about their guests experience.

We have visited the Kingfish Inn several times now, and each is as pleasant as the last. The rooms are spacious, clean and comfy. The location is quiet with spectacular views of the sound. With the self-checkin / checkout process, the whole thing is very simple and convenient.

Clean, very comfortable and peaceful. A vacation I’ll never forget. Only thing that could of made it better is if the restaurant was open to try the owners fare, but we enjoyed lovely dinners in town. We accidentally locked ourselves on the balcony of our suite(Spruce) and within 10 minutes, Holly had us rescued by staff who came back to let us in. Everything was absolutely perfect. What dreams are made of!

It’s right above the water across the street and the Spruce suite has a large deck with 2 chairs that looks into the bay. The bed and bedding were super comfortable. The only things that were not so good; not enough coffee/tea for the rooms (e were told to get more upstairs but everyone else has already taken it), no water pressure in bathroom sink.

Lovely place to rest on a busy vacation schedule. There was no check in by anyone but it was fine with the information we had. Lovely , spacious, well appointed room and bathroom. Nice complimentary snacks too. Sad we didn’t know their restaurant would be closed the entire time we were there . Would recommend for sure. Know there are slot of stairs.

We loved our stay at Kingfish! We were pleased with the size of the room, the amenities, and - most importantly - the serenity. We would definitely stay again during our next visit to Orcas Island.
