The price was great for this former Red Lion property. The Red Lion name always meant you'd get a spacious room. Because the price is so good, the clientelle was not the most wholesome looking crowd but noone bothered us. Across the street Target had heavily armed guards and you got the feeling that you should NOT go for a walk outside. A five minute drive across the river had a beautiful walking trail.

The staff is the only reason we stayed at this location. It is very run down. The place needs a major rehaul. Items broken or just missing from the rooms. Trash everywhere and just over all very very old and shabby but the staff there are incredible.

Old Building; Comfortable Stay

Make no mistake about it, the building is old and could use a little refreshing, especially in the common areas (hallways, elevator, lobby). But, at least in my experience, old buildings mean large rooms, and this was definitely true at this place. Our room (2 queen beds) was HUGE. It had two wash basins, a large closet...lots of room. The room itself was clean. My only complaint is that the shower could use a bit of an upgrade. The surrounding area was fine, and convenient enough (about 15 minutes to PDX). I would definitely stay there again if I'm in Portland.

This hotel was VERY dirty. Hair in the bath tub, stains on the bed, cobwebs in the corner, dirty towels, etc. Luckily I was there only one night. The crowd around the hotel and staying in it were all questionable as well. The rooms were no smoking and it constantly smelled like weed in the hallways.

Pictures are not accurate, hotel is dirty and much worse in person. I was given a card to check into my room and the room wasn’t cleaned nor bed made. It looked like another guest was still staying there. Several rooms had clothes hanging from the balcony. It didn’t feel safe or clean at all and I ended up staying somewhere else.

This location felt sketchy! There was a security/police presence and I was happy to only being staying for one night. The thirdhand smoke in the nonsmoking room was oppressive and the cigarette marks on the bathroom wall were surprising. The sink drain and shower regulator needed repair and other guests were playing music in the hallway in the middle of the night. I won't be staying here again.
