My bf and I were visiting Osaka for 4 days and we picked the Apa hotel - Midosuji Honmachi-Eki Tower mostly because it was within the average price per night, super close to the metro station, to the shopping area Shinsaibashi and Namba - Dotonbori. The rooms are tiny but clean and nice, have storage under the bed for the luggage. The hotel has spa, massage and restaurant which are a little pricy. Laundry machines - coin paid. Also the free common bath for men and women. One cons - the bath wont allow people with tattoos (and i understand/know the reasoning, but come on its 2025 and many tourists visiting Japan - that rule should be dropped from the hotels. We stayed in Kyoto and had no issues to use the common bath there)

Great Location!
The stay was nice, and the location was great. Two little issues were that there was a vent in the ceiling to the outside where traffic could be heard (it sounded like a little ceiling speaker,) and the main drain was a little clogged. (First world problems.) Other than that it was a very enjoyable stay, close to amenities , the subway, a family mart….

Check-in was at 3pm, staff seem to be annoyed by the amount of customers they need to serve. They just look overworked and kind of frustrated. The vibe felt like we were being bothersome. Facilities are good, but please just empty the garbage daily at least.

Smallest rooms ever
I believe these are the smallest and dustiest rooms in the world. The rooms are cleaned every three days, which makes them very dusty. During cleaning, the furniture is not dusted. If you have allergies, be extra cautious. Yes, it is stated that the rooms are small, but the layout is so poorly planned that it’s impossible for you to move around in the remaining spaces. There are no wardrobes for your belongings in the rooms. Instead, they suggest this: keep your belongings in your suitcase and store the suitcase under the bed. I’ve never seen anything more ridiculous.

I liked that it was just next door to one of the underground stations and also walkable to the famous Namba and Dotonbori areas. The hotel has a swimming pool, a spa, and a restaurant inside, even though we did not use any facilities due to our tight schedule. I did not like that there was a cockroach in our bathroom. The staff was very quick to come and spray the area with insect chemicals to kill it. We requested to be switched to another room so that they could disinfect the bathroom better. The hotel was full that day but they accommodated us the following day and switched us to another room that we did not have a problem with. Overall, we enjoyed our stay at the APA Hotel.

i stayed here for almost a month. i made a request weeks before my arrival to be put in a room away from the elevator and as high up as possible since im a light sleeper and i had to work est hours. when i walked into my room i could smell mold. it was even worse when i turned on the air conditioner. the first night there were bikers revving their bikes all night up and down the street. there was also a loud beeping noise from the crosswalk every few minutes all day and night. i even asked other guests and they all said the noise pollution was unpleasant. i complained about the mold smell and they said they would clean it. when i came back into the room it didnt smell, until i turned on the ac unit. when i looked at the ac unit, there was black mold. i kept waking up from the smell and my throat was itchy for the first week. also the fact that it smelled only after the ac was turned on told me that the drainage was blocked so there was stagnant water. i complained a few more times and explained that the inside of the ac unit needed to be cleaned. they said ok, but they clearly didnt. also because this building is not fully enclosed, each room needed to have a air vent to the outside. this causes a few problems. the filter was moldy, the air being circulated is. constantly humid, so no matter how hard the ac unit worked it would never dehumidify the room, and if the room isnt in use then the whole hvac system just gets moldy. see full review on google or yelp. char limitation.
