We were disappointed. The room we got was not AT ALL like the photos on Expedia or the Factory website. We got a dark box that measured 2m by 4m, sparsely furnished, with a black wall and a false window- leading not outside, but to a shaft within the building leading down to a noisy bar. The earplugs did little to muffle the sounds that continued until 1-2am, 2 of our 3 nights. We paid over $700 for 3 nights. Maybe this is inexpensive for Eixample Barcelona, but we felt swindled by the “false” online marketing. Does Christina the owner even exist? We only met the cleaning person, briefly, otherwise there is zero personnel and our WhatsApp communications rarely got answered. Email and calls: nada. The fridges are not full size, breakfast rations are not homemade as they say in writing, and the milk had gone bad. The ecletic look of the common spaces is fine, but regardless of the room you get (sunny with real window? or dark cell…): this is a hostal with 4 private rooms, in an appartment building, with self-serve grocery store breakfast. I have travelled to over 20 countries, always on a budget and we regretted this splurge. $235 per night per room is too much for cramped and sleepless night. The common area was nice, but please put the real photos of the actual rooms so travelers know what to expect. This comment was echoed by a couple we crossed paths with - in another dark box-like room, so it wasn’t just us.
