Expedia, I recently booked a room for my elderly parents at an Econolodge in Castro Valley, Ca. The reservation confirmation was 72826114507415 I wanted to share that my parents and I experienced a very bad stay. Here's what happened: On the night of May 16th, I had gone two hours away to pick up my parents in Modesto, Ca and brought them to stay at the Econolodge in Castro Valley. It was after 10pm we were all tired. After checking in at the lobby, and my elderly parents to their room I was about to leave and somehow the door would not open from within. I thought that was odd, but maybe my mother had locked the door. I proceeded again to move the handle, lock and try shaking the door but it wouldn't open. We were trapped! I called the front office and they were unable to open the door either after trying. I got panicked then cause I felt in real trouble should we have a medical emergency, fire or something else. After about a half hour or so, the manager or someone in maintenance had to come into our room by way of the window! They eventually were able to free the door open. We were then asked to move to another room further down. I had to wake up my elderly father that had been sleeping just a few hours to tell him what had happened and why we had to move. He was very upset too at what was happening. To make matters worse, the room we got moved to smelled dank, like it had not used for a while. The TV did not work and there was construction debris and material nearby.
