The hotel is outdated. I have stayed in two different rooms. One had old, worn-out furniture, wall-to-wall carpets, ugly curtains, and a view of another, dull building that is part of the hotel. The other room was much larger, renovated, but in a bland, boring style. An interior designer did a very poor job. The room has great potential, but the initial impression was random and incredibly dull, the space was poorly utilized. The bathroom was the best part, but with potential for improvement. I paid over 8000 NOK for 3 nights, but did not get value for money.
The best part of the stay was the breakfast, with a very large selection, thoughtful and delicious.
I had an unpleasant experience when I went to pick up a coffee to go on my way out of the hotel in the dining room where I had just eaten breakfast. I was stopped by astaff member who asked me to explain if I was staying at the hotel and in which room. I gave her the room number, but when she returned, she remembered the wrong number and began questioning me as if I were a criminal. I provided the number again, along with my name. She began asking about the reason for my stay at the hotel. It started to become uncomfortable. It was a business trip, and I was dressed accordingly. All because the hotel has from outside coming in and having breakfast without staying at the hotel. This problem could easily solved by having everyone who enters provide their room number. All guests should be treated equally.
