I love the area around the Clarion Hotel Savoy, but it is an aging property, and my room was not properly equipped when I arrived. While I had bath and hand towels, there was no bath mat. Even though the room is small, there was room for a hot water heater and mugs for drinking tea or coffee. Nor any tea or coffee provided guests. There was just a single glass. There was only one hanger on the pegs provided for clothes.
Happily, the young man on reception the night I arrived (Henrik(?) so sorry, I'm terrible with names), was wonderfully accommodating. He found some hangers, apologied for not finding more than three, and found a bath mat, all of which he brought me.
The staff had, in prior conversation, offered to set aside a dinner plate, as I didn't check in until 10 pm. The dinner plate was heated for me and was just right. I was very pleased with that service.
The breakfasts are lovely, and the free dinner was also nice, though I might opt for eating elsewhere in future, to explore Oslo's offerings.
I do love the area, and overall, once I settled in, except for there being no option to have coffee or tea in my room without first making a trek to one of the dining rooms, it was just fine.
