The rooms look a lot different than the photos, they look aged and not very comfortable. The location is not ideal since you still have to take transportation to go to El Peñol or the main town. Breakfast is below average, and the staff is just fine.

Our room was very dirty, it looks like they never changed the blankets, the blankets and the pillows has dirty spots, the toilet seat was all wet with pee, the bathroom floor full of long hairs, that room was terrible, one of the bed has a metal spring sticking out and one towel was very dirty to. We complained to the only person working there that night and the guy went to our room and he couldn’t believe the condition that room was, he apologized and he changed us to a different room. By the way the rooms has no Air Conditioning.

I stayed with my family and chose this hotel specifically because it was close to “the big rock.” Hotel was fine and offered a clean and comfortable room and a quality free breakfast. If offered, try the arepa de choclo with breakfast. They were good and a nice break from the traditional arepas. Also, you can literally walk to the rock because of its close proximity to the hotel. However, depending on your fitness level and endurance, it may be best to hire a chiva to get you there. We did and arrived early with fresh legs to comfortably enjoy the climb and the amazing views. We walked back to the hotel and relaxed at the pool before checking out and heading to Guatapé for a couple days. Why only 4 stars? After 4 days in Medellin we were ready for a little unwind and peace. Unfortunately, the people/family in the room next to us decided to party late into the early morning hours and the walls were thin enough to allow us to share in their festivities. Not the hotels fault but, definitely an annoyance.
