The internet did not work. This was very important for doing business, and was In town for work. I would have left and gone to a different hotel just because of this, but was only there for one night. The train that runs every 25 mins or so is also very loud.

undesirable experience
I had made the reservation 6 weeks in advance for a room with 2 queen beds. When we arrived they had given that room to someone else and there was only one bed in our room for 3 people. They did give us an additional room upstairs. Our downstairs room seemed like an after thought. There was an old broken microwave , trash piled up right outside our room! We could not get hot water in our shower either. The room was dark and dingy, not like the room upstairs. There was a man blaring music in the playground next to the hotel until late at night and undesirable ( scary ) people walking around the parking lot day and night.

Sketchy all around
Just don't do it. Don't bring kids here. The hotel was going under renovations for sure, hopefully they can fix up some things but the neighborhood is in a homeless community so there are homeless people all over the street. Everything was sketchy, we did not even feel comfortable staying even though we payed. We left the same night. They do allow dogs but we did not even want our dog to be in that situation.

It was a historical place. The staff was friendly and easy to talk to. The room itself was homey, like you were a friends house for the weekend. Downside was that they were in the middle of remodeling which meant the floors were dirty, we found 2 screws ln the shower floor, and there were paint dust everywhere. Other than the remodeling, everything was good.

A beautiful place to stay. Warmhearted and humble staff. The whole hotel is full of art and vintage furniture. The rooms are perfect and feels like your at home. The hotel is couple minutes away from the beach making this the perfect spot without breaking the bank! Highly recommend!

This is my 2nd time staying her and it was the worst! The man at the front gave my room code to someone else and they walked in the room while my husband and I was sleeping! He told me it was a mistake but we noticed after leaving for the store a few things out our bag was missing so that means the person went back in the room when we left! PLEASE DONT STAY HERE!!!

Incredible feeling!
The Hotel has a New Orleans style vibe which we just loved. It's history was surprisingly musician based from all of the famous Jazz musicians that have stayed there since 1938 and on. Incredible conversations with the staff were so enjoyable. parking was secure and right next to the Hotel. Very convenient off the I-95 exit. Lots of cool shops close by. We will stay there again when in Miami. Thank you for having us in the William H Johnson Suite!
