The hotel was fine for my needs. The room was small—8’x8’. The Israeli breakfast was of low quality.

8/10 Very Good

The Palatin was built in 1936 and is very old-school Israel/European. They put me in an older section of the hotel (ground floor) which seemed dirtier than the rest of the hotel, but I had a small dog with me and maybe that was why. The room was absolutely fine - hot water, great water pressure, comfortable bed, warm radiator heating (plus an additional wall heater, if needed). I would happily stay here again except for the two electrical towers that are directly across the narrow pedestrian 'street' and directly across from my window. The staff was very friendly and the breakfast was a cold buffet that was more than enough for nourishment. If you are not disturbed by the electrical towers, then this is a wonderful, inexpensive, centrally located, and friendly place to stay.

Avoid it
We had to cancel our booking after the check in. The rooms are far away from the photos posted by and about the hotel, they are old-fashioned, dirty, small, smelly and in very bad condition. They tried to offer another room with the same quality, that was totally nonsense. It is in worse condition than in a cheap hostel. When we asked them about the photos posted on Hotels.com it was told that these qualities are required by these websites (even if they are not real). That's crazy.

This is my third time to stay at the Palatin hotel. All the staff are friendly and extremely helpful. I lost my carry on en route from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem on the shuttle bus (Nesher driver gave my carry on to another person). Karmi and Eli at the reception tried their best to help me find it. Getachew also at reception helped me very much as well. I find the Palatin to have a home like atmosphere, breakfast is always good even if more of the same and the rooms are always clean and towels are fresh. Hanna from USA
