We stayed 10 nights at "The Lodge". We could not have faulted the hotel in any respect. The staff are a true highlight showing the hotel's worthiness of being a 5* property. Magarida on reception helped us continuously throughout our stay and was always warm, friendly and welcoming to us in every interaction. At check in, the room was not available (we landed very early in the morning and did not expect to get checked in). Magarida very kindly telephoned us as soon as the room was available which was very thoughtful and convenient. Other staff of note was the entire team at breakfast, led by the very friendly and accommodating Ava and Henrique. Both of these staff members welcomed us with a smile each morning. They were also kind enough to give us recommendations of where to go and what to do whilst on holiday - Ava even wrote down a couple of local desserts that we had to try! There were so many pleasant waiting staff, unfortunately we didn't catch all their names. It was so lovely to wake up in the morning and go to a breakfast room that had such a lovely atmosphere. The hotel is very clean and the housekeeping staff are clearly very professional and look after the aesthetic of the hotel. Their nightly turn down service was appreciated, and we very much enjoyed our nightly chocolate or face cleansing towel. In terms of our VIP access status, we appreciated being allowed to check in early, a welcome letter from the manager and free bottle of wine and treats! Muito obrigado!!
