I had a reservation for July 11-14, 2024. Due to Hurricane Beryl, I checked on the status of the motel prior to my check in date to make sure they had power, which they did. I was told by the manager the hotel was full, he could not make people leave, and therefore could not honor my reservation. On the 11th, I was told he had a room for me. It was supposed to be a non-smoking room. Upon inspection, the room reeked of cigarette smoke so badly I could not stand to be in it. Since there were no other rooms available, I declined the stay. It was my suspicion that my reservation for $54 per night did not compare to the $140 a night he charged for hurricane victims. I will not stay there nor recommend that location in the future.
