Old hotel

I think they haven't done any renovations after 1990s. If you don't smoke, it may be better to choose some other hotel because those old carpets stinks. Linen were also old. Breakfast was typical and a quite good but nothing local specials you will not find.

The hotel can be found easily by the main road and is very close to the lake on the opposite side of the main street and shopping area. The room was spacious on the top floor. There were two toilets in the room. Windows could be opened which was good compared to other hotels we have stayed in Finland during this summer. There was also a fan to help with the airflow. Kitchen and fridge was in the basement in the shared area. Staff was not particularly helpful about the information on the hotel free bike rental and the use of the kitchen.

Sleeping is a fundamental aspect of any hotel stay. The hotel provided me with a unsatisfactory single bed without a mattress just a single mattress topper and low quality bedding -Therefore, a very uncomfortable stay and sleepless nights .Sleep

A time travel to the 80s

The hotel does not seem to have been refurbished since the late 80s which provided a bit of a nostalgic experience. Although clean the room started to be quite worn out. Since nothing in the hotel is nice looking I would advice from staying there for a romantic weekend. Parking is however convenient and it is easy to reach by car so it works for business travel. Please be aware that the reception could not produce a receipt because the booking was made throught Hotels.com and the hotel restaurant is closed on mondays and there are no nearby restaurants so I would not recommend a business stay either.
