The Pulitzer Hotel - despite its incredibly central location just off Placa Cataluyna, faces a small side street which is quite serene with a handy taxi stand right outside. The building itself is lovely - a wonderful example of an urban renovation - most striking are the glass walled elevators that allow a 360 view of the five floors and tastefully appointed lobby bar. Check in was wonderfully efficient with Wendy quickly tending to our special requests and making certain we were well settled for our 8-day stay. Our room - 506 - was all tasteful minimalism and extremely well designed for easy living, restful sleeping. Room service every morning was perfection and it is always nice to have a cheerful person greet you with breakfast! Housekeeping should also be mentioned as the hotel - rooms and common areas both - are kept in an immaculate state at all times. Many thanks to Andrea and Adrien our bartenders who make a smashing Negroni and are happy to field any request. Lastly a thank-you to Alba Franco, Guest Relations Supervisor, for her lovely notes and the thoughtful gestures - such as warm cookies waiting in the room after a cold rainy day trip to Figueres, and the extremely good bottle of Rioja left in the room on our last day which made packing for our return to SF more joyful - and eased the sadness of leaving beautiful Barcelona. On our returns to BCN, we would never consider any other hotel than the Pulitzer! Thank you to the entire team! Clair & Jeffrey
