Palazzo della Fontana is a beautifully renovated hotel right at the start of the historic town, allowing you to reach it easily by car, and also use it as the perfect base for sightseeing. A very tasteful, spotlessly clean property with excellent staff and great amenities. Cherry on top… the rooftop bar where you can enjoy your cocktail with a great view of the old town.

Stayed here for only 1 night, wish it was longer. Super comfortable bed, with large bathroom. Right nwxt to the main puazza. Staff are super friendly. They also have a rooftop deck to enjoy drinks appies at the end of your day. Will definitely stay here in our next trip To Matera

Parking is a short distance away and you must walk to the hotel on cobblestone streets with your luggage, but this is not too difficult and true of many places in central Matera.
