OK Stay, But I won't Be Back
It was my first time at Fiesta Inn, though I frequent TJ often and have stayed at many properties. Like most chains based in Mexico, star ratings are overblown. What is considered 4 stars is more like 3. They look great on the surface, but I find the maintenance of the properties and details lacking. As always, the staff are very accommodating and give superb service. The attitude is "whatever you need, we are at your service".
The hotel is very clean and looks great. Large restaurant and bar, although prices are similar to what you would find in the U.S. Being across from the airport it is to be expected. Not a very walkable location compared to Centro or Rio, so be prepared. There are things nearby but at a greater distance than if you were more central in the city.
The room was OK, but for the price and photos on the site, nowhere near what I expected. Very minimalist with small "nightshelfs" on each side of bed, very little drawer space, only two bed lights to light the entire sleeping area (literally no lighting), small bathroom with a door that opened halfway into the toilet and no towel rack to hang wet bath towels. Large TV however, with dead batteries in the remote.
Maintenance of the room was lacking as well i.e. patches on walls, thermostat falling off the wall, stained towels, cheap bedding, etc. Very basic accommodations for the price.
The food in the restaurant was good and they do offer 24 hr room service, which is nice, just in case. I won't be back.
