Great Value and Unique Experience
Great location. Excellent choice if you’re looking to stay somewhere with charm that chains can’t offer. Motel is a throwback to the days of yore. Very cool vibe. Excellent outdoor amenities including fire pits, bocci ball, corn hole, and playground. Breathtaking views and a great place to relax.

The place held on to its roots, but the owners have updated the rooms and they are very comfortable and clean. Mid-Century for this Millenium
The whole place felt frozen in time, clean, and definitely on a ‘50s kick. The bed was firm and comfortable, parking easy, grab and go breakfast options convenient (coffee, oatmeal, fruit, yogurt). The jazz playing in the main lounge areas was also cementing the vibe. Of note, the floors do creak and carry vibrations from neighbors, though expectations of this were set up front. I had a cooler in my room, no microwave nor fridge, yet I was prepared as I knew in advance. You could order something to be delivered to door if you needed. Highly recommend this place.

We chose the Grayhaven Motel because of its close proximity to our planned hike. The owners have done a fantastic job renovating the hotel while maintaining the general look of a roadside motel. The shower head was one of the best I’ve used, and the bird feeder outside our window was a nice addition. I wish we could have made use of the fire pit on the property and the s’more kit provided (unfortunately it was raining). Breakfast was simple but delicious- local yogurt and a hearty granola fueled us for the hike. Overall a great experience.

What a wonderful place! This is not your parent's motel. The owners have carefully renovated with a fresh, comfortable and hip vibe. We enjoyed the short hikes and bird watching. We travel to Ithaca several times a year and this is our new place to stay.

The room was charming and comfortable. The bed and linens were extra nice. Beautiful grounds with flowers and a hammock!! We played Elvis records on the turntable and tried to light a fire in the pit so we could enjoy the provided s’mores making kit. I would so stay here again. This Retro-modern Motel is the gem of Ithaca! This will be the only place we stay on trips back home. Super clean, dog friendly, spacious rooms, great decor, environmental conscious which is a breath of fresh air, and an awesome set up for s’mores at the fire pit just waiting for you in the room. Great customer service. Only thing I wish I had was a small coffee pot in room, even though they have it in office. Thank you Gray Haven from NC!!!!!

The location was central to multiple state parks. The breakfast options were minimal. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They are doing a great job updating all the rooms. The motel is on a busy street so if traffic noise bothers you i would not recommend. All in all it was a nice place.

I liked that it was an old-fashioned motel property but was modernized. The hosts were a very nice young couple who are doing a great job renovating the property. They had a nice little common room in the office. The only drawback was that we had slightly noisy neighbors and the rooms are not soundproof.

An innovative and unique experience to stay in an old school roadside motel where the charm of the retro and historical nature still exists with a modern touch. I love the idea of revitalizing a local property and name that has been around for decades. The owners and employees take pride in this and it shows in their food and drink offerings which come from local producers, and their room decor choices which are listed in their in-room information guide. Everywhere I turned there was something to discover, even bird guides to identify the birds in the feeders hung right outside the room window. There’s lots to do on the property for everyone (bocce, campfires, barbecues, playground, dog run) and tons around the property. Easy access to beautiful state parks (four within a 5-30 minute drive), restaurants (5-10 minutes to central Ithaca), and more. Highly recommended and would definitely return. Wish there were more places like this!
