I stayed 5 nights in the Unitas Residence (initially had booked 2 nights). It was not fancy (I think the hotel part is fancier if you want that). The room was huge compared to everywhere else I have stayed in Europe, and it had superb air conditioning which was a godsend because Prague was hot during most of my Sept stay. It also had a very nice bathroom with very good towels that were changed frequently, a hot water pot to make coffee/tea, and a comfy bed. The bed is not luxurious but was very comfortable for me. The people at the front desk [especially “Lucy,” and Michal (the manager)] were very helpful with cafe recommendations, best transportation to take to get to particular places, printing out tickets, and so on. They helped make my visit more enjoyable!
Hôtel Unitas is on a quiet street a bit away from the crowds, but convenient to the sites and restaurants in Staré Město, as well as a short walk to the Charles Bridge and to Malá Strana and other neighborhoods across the river. It is also close to public transportation which is excellent in Prague, and free for older individuals.
