This property is in excellent shape and location was the most convenient. Everything we wanted to visit was pretty much walkable. Staff at the hotel was very very helpful and went beyond their duty to help out. Will definitely stay here again with my family. The family room was very spacious. Very convenient to walk to aya sofia and blue mosque but so close to Gullhane tram stop to go anywhere or a short walk to Sirkeci to get on marmary metro. Breakfast was standard Turkish.. overall a good stay.. a kettle in room would be nice

the room we were allocated had a very nasty smell in the bath room. after day 2 we mentioned this to the reception staff who changed rooms for us. In both rooms the noise from outside was rather loud. rooms were basic but comfortable. breakfast we plentiful and varied.

Hotel Olimpiyat is located at the heart of Istanbul. The room was very clean, even though this hotel is a little bit old, everything was great. Staff was helpful, breakfast was wonderful with variety of Turkish and European food. The only disadvantage was that Wifi was really poor and sometimes didn't work at all (5th floor). But at lobby it worked well.

We stayed for several days, one of the 2 rooms has a terrible smell, when we mentioned it the receptionist told us they new about it, sent cleaning personnel who did little to fix the issue and complained and wanted a tip for "cleaning". We found dirty towels in the drawer. The smell never went away. Plates from other guests were left on the hall floor for days.

The room smelt probably because the carpet needed cleaning. And the staff on reception aren't very friendly and would only talk if you indicated the conversation. Never a good morning or how are you? Ect. Otherwise great location with all the sites easily walkable and great public transport connections.
