My husband and my 2 sisters went to Niagara Falls for our little getaway. Booked at comfort hotel thru hotels.com. Our room is in the 6th floor, we got to the room peacefully and had our stuff organized. It was around 7:10 pm when we decided to go down and have supper and maybe a little stroll to the Clifton hill. When we’re inside the elevator, it didn’t move even if we already pressed the G (ground floor) button. We tried to press the “open and close” buttons, still didn’t move. After almost 10 minutes of trying to push buttons we decided to push the bell and help button as the realization sinks in that we might be trapped there for a long time, but every time we speak to from desk she keeps saying “help is on the way” 20 mins later, still no help arrived, the elevator got so hot as there was no oxygen. We were all sweating and it’s getting so hard to breathe. I called from desk again and she also was waiting for the maintenance person to open the elevator. I had to take off my clothes because I was drenched with sweat and this time I am already sitting on the floor. Finally I called 911. The firefighters and paramedics arrived in more or less10 minutes. They tried opening the elevator door for a few minutes before they finally opened it. We were all exhausted but glad that finally we were able to get out of there. I asked the front desk to move us to the ground or 2nd floor as I am not getting into that elevator ever. She was apologetic and gave us a room on the 2nd floor.
