The plus: I had a room for the night for twenty bucks. In the twenty-first, century, I was able to sleep in a comfortable bed in a room with a bathroom and lock and the door for less than the cost of a hardcover book.
The staff was a bit disorganized and didn’t have the room that I reserved, but not a problem, I’d reserved a room with a twin bed and I got a queen. The bed was comfortable, there was a fridge (with a decent-sized freezer which was nice since their ice machine was broken and I was able to make ice for my cooler by putting a plastic bag of water in the freezer.
There was, of course, a hexipedal roommate in the bathroom. I pretended not to see it.
No soap or shampoo. Grr.
No toilet paper. Grr.
No towels. Grr.
The place overall was quiet, the wifi existed but I got a faster connection over my phone.
Not somewhere I would have stayed for more than a night, but as a place to sleep during the course of a long drive, it was adequate.
