Decent place to stay if you are in Pitlochry
Nice place. 5-10 minute walk down to the town. Lounges was a bit dusty with cobwebs, but reception, rooms and breakfast area were great. Breakfast and service were great too. There is ample parking.

Breakfast good, staff friendly but room freezing, heating went off later on a night and didn’t come back on until 6am, generally rooms need to be upgraded. Quite enjoyable stay though.

A nice weekend.
The hotel is old and needs a make over. Our room and bathroom were very clean, but we were there for 3 nights and towels and toilet rolls were never replaced. We had to get them ourselves. The pool and changing rooms are not sufficient for the size of hotel.

Daughters birthday weekend
We booked to stay to meet family for my daughters birthday, outside of the hotel is in great condition and looks a lovely old building, inside is a bit tired but did not take away from how great the staff and service were, we had a fantastic dinner in the restaurant and enjoyed the entertainment in the lounge, can’t praise the place enough and was lovely to meet lots of four legged guests too as the hotel is dog friendly, will definitely stay again

2/10 Poor

Unfortunately my stay at the hotel was soured by a couple of disappointing elements. The best was comfy and I had an enjoyable sleep for the most part. Sadly the 2 inch gap at the bottom of my bedroom door (a fire door) let light in from the hallway all night. However the main issue with my stay was the shower, there was literally no pressure what so ever in it and the temperature wasn't good. I did make a complaint to reception because it really was unacceptable for the price i paid and they informed me I'd recieve a call from the manager, I'm still waiting 3 weeks later. On the spot i was told it was perhaps because everyone was showering at once but given the pressure and the temperature in the sink tap this wasn't the issue and even if it was it isn't acceptable for them to be aware and not fixing it. Save your money and book elsewhere.

Not as impressive as we hoped
Impressive looking hotel. Staff welcoming and friendly. Our room was clean and functional, and a good size, but rather tired and lacking finishing touches. We would really like to praise it more, but unfortunately it just doesn't stack up against other hotels we have stayed in in Scotland this year for a similar of lower price. In fact for the price we paid (£185 for one night) we expected a lot more and felt this was significantly overpriced.. The bathroom was clean but in dire need of refurbishment, poor tiling and a large chip out of the enamel in the bath. The shower bracket was not adjustable, and there was nowhere to put your toiletries etc. The towel rail never seemed to come on and the bathroom was quite cold. We also had a small (in relation to the room) wall mounted TV which was a Smart TV with an abundance of channels and apps, but as it was not connected to the internet most of the functionality was not useable, restricting to us a few Freeview channels. The bedroom furniture was clean and in good condition, but was all flatpack melamine and nothing like you might expect for a room costing what it did. So some good points but not a place we will be paying for again in the future. We've given it an 'average' score but taking the cost of the room into consideration it should probably be lower than that.
