We had a very nice stay at the Royal Hotel. Staff were polite and the hotel is right on the beach in a very good location. The only downside was the lack of gluten free options at breakfast in the morning which meant my partner was not really able to have a proper meal. Overall though a very nice stay and would recommend it.

Such a lovely hotel, we would definitely go back if we needed to be in the area. Staff were great called ahead and we were able to check in early so we could get ready and head off to a wedding. Room was lovely. Next morning had a delicious breakfast. Highly recommend

The hotel room was lovely and comfortable. The staff were very helpful and friendly and the restaurants food was amazing😍 Only thing i can say is that the wait for are food was a little long but id put that down to it being very busy, the restaurant staff were very attentive and did apologise for the wait. Over all we had a lovely time and i would recommend anyone to stay here and to definitely try the food as it was sooo nice.

Smallish rooms & showerooms but nicely decorated. Hotel over both Wetherspoons & My Big Fat Greek Restaurant (where reakfast is served) right on sea front opposite pier. Busy area but no problems noise wise.

Weekend away
Lovely hotel and very clean, lots of food places around, and easy access to arcades and beach, room was loud until 3am from pub below every night, when you put the tap on or flush the toilet there was a big noise from the pipes which is inconvenient when going to the toilet in the night, towels are small so recommend to bring your own, balcony door was broken so let in more noise from pub below, bed was comfy had nice balcony area, breakfast was good

Hello! My cousin and I were visiting from America as we have family roots in Clacton. We found the staff to be extremely helpful and pleasant. They attended to our needs (including a malfunctioning air conditioning unit!) and were very quick to get the matter attended to. We also very much enjoyed the breakfasts in the morning. We would definitely recommend the Royal Hotel to anyone planning to visit Clacton.

I chose The Royal for its location. I was aware that it would be noisy during the day due to its proximity to all the attractions and rides by the pier but take note if you are looking for a quiet stay! The staff were very obliging and friendly. Some of the shared areas such as the lift, rear exit and doors to the first floor need some attention. The bed was very comfortable and the shower was good pressure.

The hotel is beautifully decorated and the staff we met were really helpful and made us so welcome. The lovely gent at the desk sorted out a new room for us very quickly and graciously. The room was wonderful with a lovely comfortable bed. There is a jacuzzi bath in the corner of the room and a great walk in shower in the bathroom. The outside space with a wrap around balcony was great too. We were lucky to be given this room, the smaller rooms are equally as beautifully decorated. Would definitely stay again. Thank you to the team for making our stay so great.

Generally the property and surrounding area was very good for local amenities easy access to all shops beaches very good car parking Unfortunately I am a disabled driver and only one disabled car parking area which was very narrow After returning to my car after a two day break I found my car had been damaged the car park is not owned by the hotel

Outside was clean and inviting loved the revolving doors the entrance was so pretty stylish clean and smelt lovely the deco is beautiful. Staff were friendly and informative. The room was big good quality clean fresh water in room and tea coffee biscuits. Bed was comfortable we had bath&a shower and toiletries were provided. We had a sea view room with balcony and rattan furniture lovely view it was lovely my only concern was the stairs down to the balcony be careful the stairs were quite steep only 3 or 4.. we slept well..breakfast choices were fantastic we had a full English which was very nice tasty. We are definitely gonna stay again well done Royal hotel 💗

The hotel is situated opposite the funfair which was open 11am - 6pm. We requested a sea view room, therefore opposite the funfair. It was very noisy within those hours. The breakfast was above expectations. The inner stairwell to the first floor desperately needs the carpets cleaning. The double doors to the first floor landing had many cracked panes of glass, first impressions were not good. However once inside the first floor things improved, we could see refurbishments had taken place. The bedroom was comfortable and clean. The shower was very good.
