It's a very old hotel, so lots of features. Some people might think it's dated but that's part of the charm. Corridors etc. need an update although this is a massive task. However, our bedroom was lovely as was the ensuite, it was warm, clean, very comfortable beds, traditionally furnished & well decorated. All the public rooms were comfortable & well presented. Breakfast was very good even though it was buffet style. The food was constantly being brought out fresh & hot. With tea/coffee table service. Lovely crisp white tablecloths & napkins, good silverware. The staff were very helpful, pleasant & courteous. We'd stayed for the theatre which is literally across the road. The hotel is also dog friendly which was good to see. We enjoyed our stay & would return.
