The Hotel staff were very friendly however extremely upset that our CONFIRMED booking (itinerary # 7442765075789) was not registered with them. We therefore had NO accommodation for a Saturday night in a tourist town! The Hotel told us they have NO dealings with Expedia.
We WILL NOT use Expedia again and will tell our friends of our experience.

Convenient 2 night stay
Two night stay. Very convenient to the train station and funicular and an absolutely gorgeous view. Had dinner at the Osteria del Grillo and a great time there.

Pergoletta Hotel, Orvieto
We stayed here for 2 nights in August 2011. Hotel is very close to the station so easy for arriving and leaving IF you are able to find it. No one had heard of it, there are no signs and we ended up walking for nearly 2km to arrive back at the station. It is actually only 5 mins from the station - come out of the station and to the left of the Funicolare there is an upward track between two buildings. Go up here and turn right, go under the bridge of the Funicolare and it is up on your right next to a sign that says Hotel. The woman who seemed to run it lives next door and the only way we could seem to call her for anything was to go down to the main door and use the external intercom system. Hotel is ok, clean etc, no fan or air conditioning and the bathroom is like a plastic addition in the corner of the room. It's ok but next time would go up the hill into Orvieto - it wasn't cheap either and without breakfast.

Too noisy!
We just wanted an overnight stay to see Orvieto for the day - chose this hotel as parking was included and it seemed a good price. The room and bathroom were spotless. Short walk to the funicular railway that takes you up the hill to Orivieto proper - this hotel is in Orvieto Scala at the bottom of the hill. You need to catch the last funicular down at about 9.30 - or walk - we didn't see the steps down by the side of the funicular and ended up walking miles along the winding road down in the dark! Also the hotel is right next to the main station and freight trains were passing our window all nignt - the other side is a busy road - so if you stay here take earplugs! Also the proprietor spoke no english and kept saying she couldn't take credit cards as her machine wasn't working, I persisted and magically it was working just as we were about to leave - I think she just wanted cash. It was a plus point that we could park the car for free just outside the hotel.

Personale molto gentile e disponibile.
