I stayed at this hotel in 2009 and felt welcomed and cared for. The same cannot be said of several of the staff during this stay. Additionally, the room was arranged so that moving from one side of the bedroom to the other was difficult (too small).

Our room was clean but very small. Almost too small for two people. Very difficult to get around the bed. Very little space for luggage. Bathroom was also very small but had essentials. No counter space and tiny shower. We were there for only one night so it was fine. Breakfast was quite good.

Charming Hotel Castex
Hotel Castex blends 18th century decor with modern amenities. My room was charming and overlooked Rue Castex. The pink and cream curtains are reminiscent of Marie Antoinette. There is a private modern bathroom. The staff speaks English and was friendly and helpful. The area is safe for walking alone at night and close the cafe’s and pâtisseries.

Absolutely wonderful stay - 6 nights and I was super pleased. Staff was friendly the shooing and dining a walk’s distance was excellent. Room was quaint and had everything I needed. This is an older Grand Dame Hotel within easy walking distance to Bastille, Notre Dame - reopening December 2024 - and the Seine transportation such as Batobus to all major attractions. Having a 24 hour Concierge helps with Security and Privacy… Hotel is nearby to Gare du Lyon Train station - a short Taxi or longer walk to Hotel. Most Paris Taxi Drivers are very nice and helpful - others, can be very rude and have bad attitudes, don’t waste a minute of your time with these guys, move on to the next.

Sweet, modest little hotel, Place Bastille
A sweet little hotel, with very helpful people. The room itself maybe a little run-down; but the bed was comfy and the location, Place Bastille, couldn't be better for a few days in Paris. The kindness and helpfulness of the people made up for the so-so surroundings. A great stay, which we recommend for the canny travelers looking for a good and satisfying stay at bargain prices.

I have to admit that, despite the room being the typical Paris Size, is still very clean as the staff cleaned the room everyday. Also this Hotel is not far from Bastille Metro Station, which contain line 1, 5 and 8 together (easy to go around Paris). There is also a lot of Restaurants nearby, which mean more options for eating out. Lastly, on the behaves of other people in my group I want to Thanks the management and the staff of this hotel for giving us a rather wonderful and memorable experience during our stay in the Paris.
