Very clean and well kept, huge rooms and warm, multi lingual staff. Wonderful breakfast buffet & great cafe au lait!
5 minutes walk to thermal baths and bus station, situated off the main drag.
Its an older hotel, and while it can definitely use a good bit of updating, (it is a little quirky in sort of an outdated, retro way.) it is very clean and well maintained, and it is an experience. If you are looking for the exclusive, ultimate modern resort you will be disappointed, but if you look at it as a lovely alpine hotel, consider its history and open your ind to the charm of its "campiness" you will be super happy. We would stay there again in a heartbeat and would highly recommend them.
Finding an adequate quadruple room in Switzerland with space and your own full bathroom is always a challenge, and we feel fortunate to have found it.
We were there in June during off season so the town wasn't busy but we could visualize how it would be in the middle of winter with their amazing open fireplace kitchen, bar and insane 360 degree views of the mountains.
We had a really nice time in Leukerbad and at the the Astoria and look forward to visiting again.
