The Le Merrill is in a fantastic location in the heart of Old Montreal. It was very clean and had the minimal kitchen and bath necessities for our stay. Be aware that our unit had no microwave or coffeemaker, but did have an electric kettle, fridge, dishwasher, and stove/oven. Cooking equipment was minimal — no pans suitable for use in an oven. Beds were comfortable and heat and A/C both worked well. The in-unit washer/dryer was nice to have. We would stay here again but come better prepared with dishwasher tablets, laundry soap and a small bottle of dish soap. I would recommend the Le Merrill.

There was a strong sewage smell coming from the toilet. This was on the second floor. Maybe higher floors didn't have this issue. Otherwise the room was big, clean and tidy. But the smell was awful. I don't think the property owners can do anything about it.

Awesome location
The checkin process and parking were awful. If you stay here, it is recommended to contact the staff in advance and get detailed instructions on where to park, how to enter the building and how to obtain hotel key. But the hotel or rather apartment was fantastic and very well priced. 1/2 a block from Notre Dame Cathedral and square. Dining everywhere. Tourist attractions blocks away.
