This unbelievably poorly managed hotel has a beautiful design, very in sync with the location (odd choice on the dark grey sheets and the green lighting on the pool, but other than that stunning), and the beach is beautiful and quiet, at least in the mornings and evening / nights when it’s practically deserted - because of the little light pollution, the stars are night are all out there - and you can see the sun rise and set in the sea which is beautiful.
The food is also great, and one of the girls in reception, and one of the waitresses is super kind.
That’s about as far as it gets on the good side. The rest of the experience is miserable.
We were received at 19:00 by an arrogant manager with an attitude, who told us that the restaurant closed at 20:00 (same time as all of the palapas on the beach) which is extremely early for Mexico, and shown to our room where we found used q-tips in the bin, and a used loofah in the shower.
When we arrived to the restaurant at 19:40, we were told that the kitchen had closed at 19:15 but that we could have a beer if we wanted, so basically left with no other options than to wait until breakfast. We obviously had to complain with the manager as this was not flagged to us, and he eventually, as if he was making us the favour of the century, managed for the kitchen to cook dinner for us.
