We loved this small, welcoming hotel!
Lovely staff, nothing was too much trouble, always friendly. Hotel was quiet when we stayed, with different nationalities- we often had the pool to ourselves. Only a small number of sunbeds, but always availability and nobody being difficult by putting towels on beds all day (maybe as hotel was quiet??)
We didn't eat at the hotel, but the food from the bar area looked good...did have a number of cocktails which were excellent.
The hotel does look a little tired in places externally but his didn't bother us, and it does feel very homely and relaxed.
Our room was kept spotlessly clean, with fresh towels each day (they provide pool towels as well).
The hotel is located in a quiet, mainly residential/ villa area, there's very little to do directly around, however it's a 10-15 min walk into town. The walk would not be for everyone....the area is quite hilly (especially the most direct route to town which we called cardiac hill)...we walk every day, so were OK with it, but it was a good workout even with a reasonably good level of fitness so not for the less energetic or less mobile.
Carviero has some great eating places and fantastic walking/ rambling around the coastal caves.
Very chilled, peaceful and an opportunity to recharge. If you're looking for simple relaxation then it is perfect-we will definitely go again. If you want a little more entertainment (or an easier walk) then head closer to town.
