This cute small house has been carefully and delightfully renovated back to a medieval style, with current day creature comforts. There are only 3 on-site parking spots, and after dropping off your bags you will have to move the car 50 meters away to a free lot, which was easy. Guest rooms are on upper three floors, navigated via quite steep and narrow stairs. I had to leave my suitcase in the car and just brought up select items to the room. There is no air conditioning in Lucca for B and Bs until June 1st, by law (hotels ok after May 1st I learned), so it was hot having rained, and there was no screen so mosquitoes got in. Ugh on that. The mattress was ok, breakfast was bountiful, and Francesca answered the phone when we called three times with questions during the evening. (She had left our keys and instructions for us as she’s only there until 2pm.). Lastly, please note the property is about 1/2 mile outside the gates of the town, not inside the city center, but we found plenty of pay parking lots just inside the city walls however, a nice feature, and they were not expensive.
