Great location, friendly staff

Amazing stay in Glasgow
Our stay in the Acorn hotel was brilliant, the hotel was very clean and the staff were friendly and helpful. The location was perfect, as we were staying for a gig in the OVO hydro, so it was close enough to be able to walk home from. It was still close enough to the city centre that we were able to explore the city easily. I would definitely recommend staying here, and would book here if we're ever in Glasgow again.

Perfect for my one-night, work-related stopover in Glasgow and the cheapest option available option when I booked the day before.

Clean, cozy, welcoming
We very much enjoyed our stay. Our room was nicer than the online pictures showed (which is rare for a hotel, in my experience!) and very cozy. The gentlemen who worked at the front desk helped us find shops and destinations around Glasgow, and the location near the park was convenient for morning jogs. We would have liked to stay for three more nights and will gladly stay here again the next time we're in Glasgow.

Acorn Hotel
Was handy for attendance at a concert at the AVO Hydro and walkable to town centre and train station. What I also liked was the small cafe deli a few doors down which was very handy and the whole area was quieter/business and residential mixture. What I also like is the idea that if you fill out a hotel review survey they will plant a tree in your name. I found this out after my stay but really like the idea.

A gem of a hotel in a fab location
The Acorn Hotel is a little gem. Upon arrival we were greeted with a friendly welcoming face. Room was spotless and had everything needed, even loved the additional touch of the ghd straighteners and hairdryer. Alan was a fantastic host and takes care of everything, even cooking breakfast. Location was perfect for our needs, about 10 min walk to the Hydro and 15 mins into the shopping centre of the city. Would happily recommend and can't wait to book again.

The staff were very friendly on arrival and the rooms were clean. Coffee, tea and hot chocolate available which was nice. Handy for the city centre. Parking was a bit of a pain outside the hotel after 8am Monday but we found a car park less than 10 minutes walk away which was reasonable. The walls were a little thin and my son could hear the man next door snoring and coughing which kept him awake a bit. Overall a nice place though for a few nights stay.

The shower was awesome! The room was larger than I expected. The beds were a little firmer than I preferred but I still slept well. The breakfast was well worth the cost. The front desk worker was super. He was an absolute gem! The only negative thing about this hotel was the lack of an elevator. I’m older and carrying a bag upstairs is difficult.
Donna, 4-night trip

8/10 Very good

It is a lovely, clean, comfortable hotel in a beautiful area of Glasgow. The only complaint was the room key cards can be deactivated by your mobile phone. This happened to us & we had to ring & wake up the receptionist. Seems like an impractical system.
Katherine, 2-night trip

6/10 Good

Budget hotel, friendly staff but the rooms are small and need updating. Television remote didn't work and the tv channels would phase in and out.
Ronald, 5-night trip

Cold shower
Room smelt a bit damp and the shower had no hot water. Thank goodness for the manager who allowed me to use the staff shower, but even that was red hot or freezing cold
