A good value hotel for being in the expensive Chantilly region.
100 euros for standard or 135 for superior room is worth it.
A hotel with character (chateau) with large grounds, plenty of amenities (heated outdoor pool, football pitch, tennis, bicycles, table tennis, snooker and spa services), a very nice bar and bar terrace and a very high quality restaurant.
Cheaper hotels can be found further away, but not with such benefits.
The local town of Gouvieux is lovely and walkable (20mins). Chantilly is a bit further.
The room was smaller than I expected for Superior grade. I would rate it as standard (adequate) in size. Bath is a plus, but shower could do with being a little larger.....a bit tight.
It is newly refurbished and tasteful, but could do with some art to give it some life or link it to the chateau’s history.
Coffee machine in room is Nespresso, so very nice, and nice “patio door” on ground floor or balcony on upper floors to nice garden view are good. WiFi works well.
I would recommend hotel adds usb sockets and fridge to the room too, but there are plenty of power sockets.
The hotel is clearly aimed at wedding functions, but this is a good thing. The ballroom is at the opposite end of the hotel to the rooms so not noisy for others.
Families were present as well as couples, and all seemed at ease.
The breakfast setup during post Covid-lockdown was very unorganised. But when Covid eases off I’m sure it will be fine.
Worth staying here.
