Perfect base camp. Basic.

Not fancy. Not even close to fancy. Basic. It was perfect. Clean. Quiet. Perfect base for our outdoor adventures.

A very affordable option for the area. Better breakfast offerings wouldn't hurt......

The room was clean and quiet and affordable during a time when the town was very busy. The staff were accommodating and friendly

New owner trying to make this place look bad

This hotel was purchased by the motel across street. The office of this hotel is a construction zone. No sign on door, no staff around. You have to go across the street to check in, but no sign, no text nor email to let you know this. No microwave, the coffee maker and TV did not work. Snow was not adequately removed. Not good safe parking. If all you need is a bed, this is a better option than sleeping in your car.

The price is very good, but you are getting what you paid for.

I never had a chance to stay at this property. There was no one on hand to check me in, the parking lot was unplowed, and the office was dark and looked to have been abandoned for months. I don't they are actually open for business, yet they took my money and would not provide a refund.

Great deal.

Room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Slightly inconvenient to walk across the street for reception and perks, but staff was always friendly and helpful. Somewhat disappointed that the outdoor pool wasn't open.

This is not to criticise the property more for expedia to not notify me that both the pool and spa were not working. And has not been for a while. Probably why the prices were low. I chose the property because l know this spa and pool and they're great. That's really what l wanted when l booked. It's pretty dishonest as they were mentioned on property amenities. Also there was no breakfast! And l booked that too!! I feel humiliated.

Great old-school motel, would come again

Our stay at Carriage House was excellent. It's a motel so you should set your expectations accordingly. It was well kept and charmingly outdated, the service employees were on point at every step, and everything was as described. This is not a fancy hotel so complaints about it being different than that are misguided.
Will, 3-night trip

8/10 Very good

This motel was connected to Rodeway, across the street. They had a pool to use, Carriage did not. Also, our mini-fridge was so cold it froze our food…
Heather, 1-night trip

6/10 Good

The check-in process was terrible. I knocked on the office door several times and nobody answered. I tried to call many times and nobody answered the phone. After about 10 minutes, I saw another customer and asked her about the check in process. She sent me an across the street to other motel and it turns out I was supposed to check in there. There was no information about this check-in process at all. If it hadn’t been for the other Customer, I would’ve had to sleep in my car.

All the basics a hotel provides

Despite to dumpy and sketchy look from the outside and entry, the room was surprisingly adequate. Clean, nice shower, refrig, tv, wifi, comfortable bed and warm. Very quiet too. A pool and hit tub and breakfast across the street we're good. This is a budget motel, so don't expect 5 star anything. If you only need a nice room at an affordable price, this can work.

Bedsheets were not the cleanest

Fine, if you just want a clean room.

The room was clean and the price was good. However, the exterior made it feel like it was not open. You had to check in at the hotel across the street, Rodeway, to get your key. Across the street was also where breakfast was at and the indoor pool and hot tub. The outdoor pool at the Carriage was closed. It was fine if you just want a clean room and don’t plan on hanging out at the hotel at all.

There was no place to check in when we got there. No sign about what to do. Had to call and they told us to go across the road to an other hotel to check in.
Fredda, 1-night trip

6/10 Good

The young man who checked us in was very pleasant and helpful in getting us in the room a little earlier than 3. Checkout was easy also. The room was not dirty, but the building was. There was a strong odor in our room so we paid for two nights but left after one. It is a shame that we lost money on the booking.
Carrie, 2-night trip

2/10 Poor

I am very disappointed, my room is freezing. I can't control the heat which seems to be set at 60 degrees. Apparently, I am not the only guest that is frozen as another woman was in the office complaining of the same thing. The pool & hot tub is also closed. No mention of this on the website, the hot tub would have been nice since they seem to be trying to save money on the heat bill by keeping the rooms at 60. This is a no frills accommodation, so the bar is low...but heating the room should be standard, ownership should do better. I wasn't expecting much but I was expecting a warm room.

You deserve better

This motel is almost abandoned. You have to yse the facilities of the Rodeway Inn on the other side of the street. The room was not unclean, but old and smelly. The AC was not functioning properly and I had initially all not hot water. I called front desk and 2 very nice man came to repair something.

It would’ve been ok for the price we paid to stay but the bed was hard as a rock and the a/c didn’t work and I couldn’t open my window for fear that the dog that I’m guessing the owners had there was barking and I didn’t want to be kept up all night from barking dogs or traffic.
Holly, 1-night trip

2/10 Poor

This hotel is a scam. I spent my entire day while traveling trying to contact them to arrange to check in outside of the 2 hour window they like. The phone does not connect. This is in the middle of the Adirondack mountains. Cell service is unpredictable at best. I was sitting in an unplowed snowy driveway at 830 on a Friday evening, with my child, unable to reach anyone. Expedia couldn't reach anyone. I leaned on my horn for 5 minutes. Nothing. The "office" is an empty room with a single bulb light. No info on contacting anyone. Their info on the site says 24/7 service available. Clearly false. 5 degrees, no one available, snowy parking lot. If the empty room didn't have the light, would think it was abandoned. Amazingly, they CAN be contacted to refuse a refund. Sleep in your car. It will be more dependable. I wish this would allow me to upload the picture of the "office."
