Our room was large and had a balcony. However, the ashtray on the balcony was not cleaned and the room was missing the remote control for the air conditioning. When we brought this to the attention of the front desk, they excused it as they "had a new cleaning girl".
This wouldn't have been that bad except that on check-out, the lady at the front desk seemed confused by our Expedia booking and asked us to pay for the our stay. This nagged in the back of my head all day, until I looked at my Expedia account and credit card statement and realized we were double-charged. We went back to the hotel (luckily we were still in the area) to fix this. The front desk refunded our payment, even though the lady who double-charged us still seemed confused by the whole thing, and they did not apologize for their mistake.
Not even this would have been that bad (I can chalk this up to new employees or language barriers), except that as I write this review, I see there was another review a month ago that had a similar experience of being double-charged!
