It seems the property is under new ownership/management, so perhaps this property is a "work in progress". The staff were friendly and helpful. But the age of the building shows, and additional work needs to be done to bring it up to better standards.
This hotel and the several other "budget" hotels at Industrial and I-30 have a single EZ Mart to visit for drinks and snacks (unless you use on-site vending). Everything else is one or two exits west on I-30 - where rates are higher and properties are nicer. When trying to exit the property, there is only a gravel back road to get onto Industrial, otherwise you have to go west on the highway service road and find your way from there.
There was mold on the wall above the towel holder in the bathroom, and that towel holder was rusty. The hallway smelled musty. The light switch didn't seem to turn anything on. And there were loose cables around the TV.
The bed was nice and comfortable, the water hot, and the A/C worked. So, it was about what I expected for the money, and I went with this choice because it did seem to be under new management and going through some renovations. I don't travel much and this was just a place to stay so I could be at a job site very early.
If you're on a budget, it's fine. I'd check over the room and if you see something, let the staff know and they may well move you to another room. Hopefully they'll fix some things up and it will be ok.
