2/10 Poor

We stayed at Rosario Village for one night after an incredibly long day of travel. We couldn't wait to get to our room and get a good nights rest. It looked beautiful from the photos and was not cheap. When we finally arrived at our room, we were incredibly disappointed. The pictures are very deceiving! Our room was SO gross. As soon as we walked in, ALL of the carpet was completely stained, the bathroom sink had hairs and grime around it and the mirror had splatters of something on it...the bathroom floor was so gross...tub didn't drain when showering. I felt dirty just being in the room. It was musty and old. The screen door was incredibly hard to open and close. Our "water view" was obstructed by stairs. There is no front desk. Everything is sent via text/email. That was fine but when I went to call the "front desk" about the cleanliness of our room, there was no front desk. I took photos of everything and texted them to the number we received all the check in instructions from. The person responding seemed understanding and said they would pass it on to the cleaning staff and said this is not their standard. I would hope not! I've stayed at Motel 6's that were nicer and cleaner than the room we stayed in! And for a fraction of the cost! I'm most upset for how much I paid for a short period of time and they did NOTHING to make it right...didn't offer us another room or a refund or anything...almost $200 to stay the night in a filthy room! I will not be staying here again.

The restaurant and store were very disappointing. Our TV did not work and fellow who tried to help spoke no English and was unable to fix it. View and grounds were lovely. Room was clean and well supplied.

The hotel was a beautiful paradise where time has stopped still. However , the rooms didnot have the usual toiletries etc. Which is a part of the normal expectation.

I have very bad experience with this hotel. I will definitely not visit this hotel again. 1. It seems my credit card on Expedia is not the most updated. After my check-in, my password was changed without contacting me. When I came back from dinner, I cannot enter my room, and I have no immediate response from services in the cold evening. Finally, I tried to enter the room through the window, and it caused the damage to their window. Finally, this hotel also charged $300 for the repair. In case there is any payment issue, they should contact me before my arrival, instead of changing the password after my check-in without any notice. 2. When I booked my stay, it is clearly mentioned that their hotel is pet-friendly. However, it is not. They also charged me $125. 3. If you use AT&T, please expect signal problems around that area. When you have any problems, you cannot get support and help quickly. 4. Even though the service is very bad, the environment is clean enough.

Rosario Village is stunningly beautiful. It is under new management and in the midst of a renovation of the mansion and spa. The only area open are tge guest rooms in the Bayside building. That was a surprise after I had already booked. My room was comfortable and spacious, but it was very hot outside and there is no AC, just a fan. That should be improved. It was a contactless check in, which was a little confusing in terms of which building, but otherwise fine. The grounds and boat marina are goregous and very walkable. The views are panaramic of the East side of Orcas Island and the water! Stunning! I will definitely book again and look forward to seeing the rest of the property after tge reno is completed.

6/10 Good

Fine but weird
I’m not sure what’s going on with this hotel. It’s surrounded by other much grander Rosario hotel buildings that are closed. It was difficult to find the building. The grounds are covered in weeds and long grass. There is no front desk. The AC didn’t work and there was no way to securely crack the window at night. The room smelled really strongly of disinfectant when we got there, and needed to be aired out for an hour. There was no filtered or bottled water. That being said, the beds were clean and comfortable, and there was an ocean view. It was fine, I just wish it had been a lot less expensive for what it was.

Rosario is beautiful, quiet, and peaceful. The room in general was great. I had no issues with the remote check in. Balcony view is great. Two negatives: 1. The room did not smell good. I don’t know if it’s just a bad sea smell or previous pets, but it was funky and not fresh, even after opening the balcony door to air out. 2. It’s not very soundproofed. It was better than another place I tried to stay in Rosario, but as I had a lower floor room, I could hear any walking in the room above and anytime a surrounding room used water fairly loudly. If you are sound sensitive, definitely get an upstairs room. The mansion is under repairs, so there aren’t any amenities to utilize, but it’s a great spot on the bay.
