The hotel was an odd mix of decors in varying degrees of shabbiness, with a pool table just inside the entrance - we immediately felt we'd made a mistake booking a night here.
The night desk clerk tried to be helpful when we were unhappy with our "double" room (in fact two twin beds) but he wasn't able to give us a proper double and was not sure how to push the beds together. The furniture in the room looked like it came from an unfortunate beach house somewhere damp and cold.
Mattress(es) uncomfortable, water pressure not much more than a trickle. The morning desk clerk phoned at 10:30 AM demanding to know "when will you be leaving?" (a card in the room gave the checkout time as noon). When I protested, she said the card was wrong, and besides sometimes guests show up early. Fine, but that is not our problem, and we didn't check in until 10 PM so don't give us the bum's rush now that you've taken our money.
This place does not deserve 3 stars - we'd stayed at a 3 star Holiday Inn in Leipzig the night before that was decent decor, class and consideration all the way, and would expect something similar for 3 stars.
