Nice location, updated needed
I think although steeped in history, it does now need a facelift.

Coomb back again!
A fabulous place to stay. A bit dated in places with some cleaning issues, but overall a comfortable stay.

Very Professionally Run Hotel
Stayed overnight for a birthday celebration, room was lovely, spacious, warm and cosy. Had food in the bar, reasonably priced, very tasty and well presented. The staff were excellent at check in, restaurant and bar, very friendly and professional. Breakfast was superb, real good quality ingredients and again very friendly, professional service from the staff. Look forward to visiting again soon.

Beautiful place to stay
This is a really beautiful place to stay, the room was lovely and very comfy. It was nice to stay somewhere a bit different and felt very special. On the way to our room the corridor/stair well did have a few cobwebs with dead flies in, but I did laugh as it was in theme with it being an old quirky place! It didn’t put me off staying, and the room and bathroom were both very clean. The breakfast was amazing, though the staff do clear up quick, and take your cutlery! Therefore if you want seconds you have to ask for another set, I think this should be either put out for people to get on the side, or given when the old set are taken away. We will definitely be back again.

Ok stay
Lovely room but lacked plug sockets near the bed for phone charging. Shower tepid and bath blocked. Only used it before leaving so reported it on checkout. Staff very attentive.

2/10 Poor

Avoid! Stay Somewhere Else
Hotel has a silly policy of 10:30am checkout, I’ve never stayed at a hotel woth such early checkout. They then have the cheek to charge you for extra time. Breakfast I paid for but it is basic and if you want something remotely nice, guess… it’s a charge. Rooms are dated and dusty, I’m not sure this is classed as the vintage look. Creaky floorboards, rubbish showers, noise from corridoors…. Its like Fawlty Towers. Receptionist wasn’t attentive or accomodating either. I won’t be returning here for sure, better off at Anstey Hall down the road.
