Very friendly efficient staff. Comfortable rooms and an enjoyable stay.
We were warned in advance that the restaurant was closed on a Sunday which was disappointing and meant a fairly lengthy trip by taxi into Rennes.

Not the room standard we expected
We were very much looking forward to staying in this beautiful chateau in it’s wonderful grounds. On first glance the room was just amazing but my husband and I were not impressed to find the previous guests rubbish still in the bin and 10-12 dead flies around the bathroom window sill. We live in a very old farm house so know all about dead flies and spiders! On complaint at the desk this was all sorted while we walked the grounds but it was a great disappointment that the staff had not checked on this fly accumulation !

We stayed in the Elizabeth garden suites and not in the chateau.
The rooms were large, comfortable, and we had lovely french doors.
We never dined at the hotel as the menu seemed to be very expensive. But, we only needed the location as a base to explore other villages in Brittany. Served the purpose and it was nice to come back to a comfortable and quiet room.

This was a beautiful property and we had a lovely leisurely Sunday lunch on the terrace. Unfortunately, the restaurant was closed on Sunday and Monday nights the two nights we were staying, however we found a lovely Italian restaurant called L’Origan in Le Rheu about 5 mins drive away. The first night we had a taxi booked to take us to a restaurant in Rennes but it was very difficult to find a taxi to return to the hotel, we walked to the railway station to find a taxi. We would definitely stay here again.

Not a 5 stars Hotel
This is not a 5 star Hotels.
I asked a fresh orange juice for the breakfast. The one on the table was 50% fresh orange only! A very simple breakfast with no service. The room, the luxury one that I reserved, was very simple like a 3 stars room. The bath was not working.

It was beautiful, this was our splurge stay in the area, but still very reasonable for the experience. The staff answered a lot of my questions before I got there (transportation, etc), and the restaurant staff was amazing too and accommodated my diet. Stay here!

Nice Accommodations, but note some limitations
This is a lovely old castle with charming rooms and a wonderful staff. The service was very professional and breakfast was quite nice. But be aware of some limitations; First, the hotel is some distance from Rennes. Getting there and back from the train station is a long cab ride. Plan to have dinner and breakfast there, since there is really no close alternative. Second, the hotel dining room is closed on Mondays - although we were told (Tuesday morning) that a light supper from room service would have been available. (No mention was made of that on the Monday we visited.)
Third, the fare for a cab ride to the closest restaurant and back to the hotel will be about 50 Euros. The meter starts with the cab leaves Rennes. Maybe a small annoyance, but an unpleasant surprise. Same problem in getting a cab back to the train station in Rennes - which doubles the expected fare.
In summary, staying there was a wonderful experience. Just note the limitations.
