6/10 Good

Location was good, by the bus station and a 10 minute (uphill) walk into the touristy central area of Belgrade. It's a difficult hotel to review as it's trying desperately to be something, elegant? classy? but it falls short. The décor is more quirky shabby chic than elegant. Some areas need attention, stained carpets and marked walls, not all the lights seemed to work in the room. I had a room on the first floor at the front and it's incredibly noisy; the traffic on the main road and the lack of good soundproofing (double glazing) results in poor sleep quality. Standard rooms do not have a safety deposit box which is very disappointing and inconvenient, meant having to carry passport and valuables all the time. The 'better standard' rooms have safety boxes but we all have valuables and all deserve some security regardless of room rate. Breakfast was OK but there was a lack of staff attention eg having to ask for cutlery or things to be replenished. There was no black tea; all kinds of herbal and fruit but not ordinary black tea - why? They also use plastic stirrers on the hospitality tray in the room and in the breakfast room; in this day and age this is a big NO. Other cutlery provided was metal so why not teaspoons? Overall, not bad for the price would ask for a room at the back in future for some peace and quiet. Didn't live up to my expectations.

It’s ok. With a little work could be very nice.
Hotel is in walking distance to most sites in the old town. Nice hotel, but it felt a bit run down. Could do with a little renovation in our room, but room was comfortable enough. Breakfast was pretty average. Coffee was not very nice, and other than fruit and bread there wasn’t much else we ate.

Good value city centre stay
Located close to the railway station and many restaurant and bars, this hotel is comfortable, clean and quiet. Our room was of good size and decorated in rococo style. The shower had all kinds of nozzles and a large rainfall shower head - but only the hand shower worked on which the wall fixing was broken, making it difficult to use. The staff were friendly and approachable and seemed to enjoy what they were doing. For last minute supplies, there is a 24-hour supermarket on the other side of the street.

Overnight before train to Montenegro. Perfect location for this train station and the bus station. Staff amazingly kind and helpful. Rooms somewhat dated however, clean and spacious.

2/10 Poor

Unbelievable bad room
Flight arrived very late arriving 03:00. Given room 2005#. Noticed that there were no curtains and no curtain rail. Nothing to hide the building site opposite. No television, as it was removed from wall. No coat hangers in wardrobe. When I got into bed, the bedding had a not quite clean smell. In the morning, realized that there were no towels and then found that hot tap didnt work in shower. Needed to strip wash in sink and dry with the duvet cover. Receptionist said that she would have given me another room if I had mentioned this situation. But I dont agree that they should try to give out such a room in the first place. Why try so hard to damage client relationships!

The ramp, on one side of the stair case, from the main entry into the lobby, should be made, for the purpose of rolling luggage up to and from the lobby.

Excellent value and great staff.
We booked this hotel because of its central position and all the positive reviews we had read. It was extremely good value for money, though we did not take full advantage of the buffet breakfast, as we preferred to eat a light meal. However, there was everything you could possibly want! I didn't enjoy the machine coffee however and would much prefer that to have been served fresh to order. Rooms and beds were very comfortable and we had daily maid service. Our room, 311 did have a lot of carpet stains which was a little off putting. I am sure these could easily be removed to give a cleaner overall impression. Staff, most of them young, were really excellent- helpful, pleasant and full of fun. This made for a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere which we loved. Unfortunately, the hotel was vastly over heated. We were able to switch off the radiator in our room but it was still very stuffy and we resorted to air con a few times, despite its being November!! One of the staff joked that it was the hottest hotel in Belgrade and I can well believe it! The hotel IS in a good position for seeing the city, but we found it noisy, especially at night and despite the double glazed windows. There is, I guess ,nothing more they can do about this, but light sleepers should be warned that they might not get good quality of sleep. Overall, though, a super, really reasonably priced place to stay.

Good wi-fi (this was why I've chosen this hotel) and good location. Breakfast was also Ok. But the hot water was in fact only slightly warm, so it was hard to take a shower...

Very nice hotel, friendly staff was helpful. They helped us book clubs and a restaurant in advance and with any questions we had about the city. The hotel has an amazing interior design - this is a great "boutique" hotel if you are not always looking for the "fanciest" 5 star hotel around. We took the Junior suite, clean, every day our room was cleaned and very clean shower and bathroom. Great location - 5 minutes walk from the river and 10 minutes walking distance to city center.

2/10 Poor

The most uncomfortable stay!
We have stayed in a lot of hotels and this was by far the most stay that we had, and we couldn't wait for it to end. Everything that could've been bad was bad in this hotel: 1. In the pictures, you'll see a shower with Jacuzzi, but not only the Jacuzzi doesn't work, in our room the shower head was not standing on the top, so we had to keep it with one hand! The hotel didn't do anything about it. 2. The breakfast was terrible, with every hot option being cold, and not many other options. We skipped it the second day. 3. The mattress was so uncomfortable that I was waking up sore each morning. 4. When the lights where on, there was a loud buzzing sound from electricity that was driving us crazy and we had to turn off all the lights, almost always. 5. Even the towels were awful and it was like using sandpaper. 6. The check-in was super slow and even after that they kept the passports and we had to come back later to pick them up. I'm really not sure how the reviews on hotels.com are much better than our experience, maybe the hotel used to be good and now they don't care about the maintenance. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this hotel!
