This little motel is more like a BnB and perfect for what it is: a comfortable, converted former rural police station located in a very tiny village on the edge of a beautiful estuary and stretch of coastline. If you come in expected a quiet, spacious place to relax and enjoy the natural beauty, then you will be very happy. The kitchenette rooms sleep four very comfortably and the furnishings and kitchenette are certainly not "luxe" but perfectly acceptable. I've been to 157 countries. If I'm going to Hong Kong, I like to stay at the Peninsula; If I'm going to Collingwood, NZ I would prefer to stay here so I can be close to fishing in the estuary, walks on the beautiful beach or treks in the bush. It's a good value for the money, and the host is very friendly and helpful. There is a great cafe across the road open for breakfast and lunch only. The food at this cafe is top notch, especially given the location. Don't forget to walk about 15 minutes upriver in the estuary to see the "tame" eels and other critters.
