The hotel was very nice, however our meal at the hotel dinning room was subpar. We were very disappointed in the quality of the food and the service. Someone forgot our order and we waited over two hours for our dinner to arrive. We saw people seated after us get meals and no one came to explain or apologize. Good stopping point on the way to Bordeaux
Overall it is a good stay, room is a bit small especially the separate toilet room is so small you can not easy sit comfortable in there. The hotel is next to a big park like area and next to the river, very good to walk around and to see the fleet and to the town center. Quiet in the evening that you can have a good sleep. There is a very nice restaurant right next to the hotel, we enjoyed a meal there. Hotel breakfast was very good with many selections compared with normal French breakfast. Very close to La Rochelle, it made a great day trip to Ile-de-Re and La Rochelle.
