Bed bugs and lack of empathy. I didn't demand anything crazy, just some extra time since my small child and i were relentlessly attacked by bed bugs. They were crawling on both beds, i called at 4am, my kid obviously upset and unable to sleep. They switched us rooms and i was up hours until my child was finally able to sleep, i woke up late. I just wanted extra time to maybe help ease the itchiness with a bath, guy knocks on the door and opens it not even 3 seconds later to say: get out. I try explaining, they don't care. Just because they switched us at 4am, it makes it okay that we are going through this? Of course, they refuse a refund cause, sure, it's a business, whatever, but tell me i just paid for this? Sometimes it takes 2 to 3 days to notice the full effects of these bites. It's only day two and i have slept maybe 3 hours in the last 2 days, my child is inconsolable. I wouldn't be angry, had they shown at least a little compassion, i don't think it was a lot to ask, they even alerted police. They have a rodent issue, the only microwave is in the lobby, sometimes no fridge in room, building smells like mildew and tobacco... but I'm out of line for asking at least a refund? I've stayed here several times, i dealt with the smells and the ridiculous added fees, but this is too much. I just needed a place to rest for the night. If you're in a pinch like I was that night, find another place or just find a rest stop, and sleep in your car. This is completely infuriating.
