I have to say that the staff is indeed helpful and the hotel is very well located as all reviews say. It's in fact a good option cost/benefit. However, my experience wasn't great... I was given a room in the middle of a corridor that smelled like sewer, I was in a one star hotel, so It didn't surprise me, and thought that it would have gone away by opening the window. Unfortunately there were people smoking right in front of my room and had to close it down. There was loads of noise in the corridors throughout the night and between the smell and the yelling, i couldn't sleep much. I thought I had been told that there wasn't anyone in reception overnight, which made sense given the amount of noise there was, otherwise I would have complained straight away. The next day, I was reallocated in a different room and spent a much more quieter evening.
One of the things you notice the minute you step inside the hotel is a very strong smell of bleach, or some infustrial cleaning product. If you have a back history of respiratory problems, which is my case: beware! The fumes will affect you! I am now back home, in bed, with a sore throat and a horrible cough, after having been breathing those fumes overnight for two nights.
I'm clearly not the reason for them to change their cleaning products, but it would definitely be a more welcoming atmosphere if there wasn't a pungent smell of bleach 24/7.
