Overall an unpleasant and extremely disappointing stay, after paying extra for a ‘better’ room. Way over-priced, having stayed in a much nicer hotel a block away for less money on the same trip. Would not stay again.
Large number of issues from start to end included…
- Difficult to find hotel entrance and locate reception once in the building (reception is on 4th floor and not signposted well).
- Room was badly maintained - there was mould and staining on the ceiling above the bed, lots of dust everywhere, bathroom windows were smeared, bathroom sink was chipped, net curtains were dirty and the coffee cups were cracked.
- TV and coffee machine did not work, aircon was unreliable.
- Bedroom and bathroom were extremely dark and very badly lit, it felt oppressive. Darkened mirrors did not help. Door to Juliet balcony didn’t not open fully due to room layout.
- Complicated entry and exit system relying on multiple lifts or stairwells to get around or exit the property, entry fobs required to use main entrances as well as needing room key.
- After checking out and returning later to collect my luggage I waited more than 10 minutes with no-one appearing at reception. I took my luggage and left as it not in held on a locked room, meaning anyone could walk in and take your possessions unchecked.
