Good value hotel, great location only a few minutes from JR station , though in the night club area the room was quiet enough. Comfortable size for two good size bathroom and clean...many dining and shopping options all around ...

It was okay. Staff were pleasant, but my room smelled of smoke despite being non-smoking, but I suppose that is to be expected. I had to air it out the first night when it was ridiculously loud outside. Police with megaphones came around telling people to go home at around 4am. Very close to the red light district and very accessible to the rest of Shinjuku.

Unless you like smelling like cigarettes...
Place reeks of cigarettes, all the rooms are “smoking rooms”. Fabreeze won’t even cover the smell up. The place is very dated and run down. Stains on the furniture and very dusty. Spend the extra money and go elsewhere!

Older hotel but comfortable w/good location
Room was larger than most Japanese hotel rooms with a nice kING size bed. Overall comfortable and a nice quiet get away from the busy shinjuju streets. Area around the hotel always busy with plenty to see and do.

An average hotel
Never expect it is a fantastic hotel. But it just average for all, and it worth for what i paid. Consider in a convenient location, 8-10 minutes walks distance from the Higashi-shinjuku station(Toei Oedo Line) and about the same distance from the Shinjuku station(inter-change). If you just need an accommodation, may consider it. The location consider a downtown, so is quite happening even the late night. One interest thing is the hotel provided a small coffee machine, that is what my friends love it so much as they enjoy coffee very much! (i have stayed with a 5 stars hotel in tokyo but without this fantastic device)

Great hotel
Overall pretty great hotel just that the whole hotel is smoking hotel and if you are a non smoker u will be smelling quite a bit of smoke when u enter the rooms. They provide febreeze in every room so basically u will have to empty 1/3 of it when u want the room smoke smell-free.

Not the greatest, but ok
I found the front desk to be very helpful, and the rooms were a little bigger than many of the other (business) hotels we had stayed at in Japan. However, the surrounding area is essentially the red light district of Shinjuku, and the hotel seems to be giving into that a bit. While not a full on love hotel, they do rent rooms for a rest, but I don't think they advertise that outside of the lobby. Also mind you that the area still feels completely safe, and is probably one of the safest red light district in the world. The rooms were dated quite a bit and the TV had something like 16 channels. VOD was limited to 4 channels that worked more like HBO rather than actually Video On Demand. The area has a lot of restaurants and is right next to the Golden Gai as well. Its a bit of a walk from Shinjuku station (10-15 mins maybe), but is definitely still easy to get to and from. There was pan flute music from the love hotel down the street, but I couldn't hear it from my room, though I could hear it from the hallway. Overall, not a bad hotel and the area isn't bad if you know what you're getting in to, but I'd probably find a different place next time.
