The hotel is older and could use some updates, but my room was clean and the service was good. The front desk staff and owners were very friendly, and the area felt safe. Very unique property. We loved the old charm, especially the giant fireplace in the lobby. This hotel does not offer a lot of modern amenities and is very dated. However, we enjoy the history and hope to stay in the fantasuites one day.

It's got a quirky charm that we enjoy every bit as much as the local attractions. Anyone complaining about things being "dated" doesn't understand the magic of the place. We'll definitely be back!

The theming was charming, and the Inn itself is a classic part of any Midwesterner's experience at the House on the Rock. It was great to see it thriving so many years since I first stayed as a child. It's a little kitschy, but the theming is fun and my experience overall was much better than I anticipated!
